Obituary for Tommie Pinkney

On October 1, 1951, L.D. Pinkney and Beatrice Day gave birth to Tommie Pinkney.

Tommy Pinkney was educated in the McIntosh County School System at Todd-Grant High School. He retired from Hartford Insurance Company of New York Tommie joined Shorter Chapel AME Church at an early age. He later attended services at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Jamaica, New York. Tommie was always a fun-loving cheerful person. He touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with.

Tommie was preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Day Young and step father Holton Young. He leaves to cherish his memories his father, L.D. Pinkney of Clute, TX; sisters, Sonja (Densia) Dunwoody of Ardick, GA, Romona Holms of Darren, GA, Sheila Bacon, Jones, GA, Diane, Christie and Leslie Pinkney of Clute, TX; one brother, Larry Pinkney of Freeport, TX; two Godchildren; uncles, Willie Joe (Florine) Pinkney, Sommie Lee (Betty) Pinkney, Helen Ramsey, Mamie Lee Hunter, Mae Ella Edwards, Mozell Butler, Jewel (Jimmie) Ellison; special aunts, Janie Pinkney, Rebecca Alston and Pearl (Michael) Ward. Extended family and best friends Andy (Denise) Strong and Nelson (Jennie) Baez of New York, Elizabeth Jones, Albert White, Geraldine McIver, Bessie Greene and Roxanne Savice.
