Obituary for Emma D. Farmer

Mrs. Emma Farmer departed from life on March 19, 2015 at 4:26 am at North Shore University Hospital at Forest Hills.

On June 2, 1935 she was born to Bertha Johnson and Samuel Patterson in Opelika, Alabama.
Mrs. Farmer completed her formal education from J.W. Darden High School in Opelika, Alabama then she moved to New York City where she met and married Leon Farmer. Together they were blessed with four children; Larry Patterson, Loretta Farmer, Brenda Farmer and Leon Farmer, Jr.
She was employed with Partners-N-Care as a Home Health Aide and held the title of Supervisor for twenty years.

She was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church for over fifty years where she served on the Deaconess Board, Usher Board, Sunday School Committee, Pastors Anniversary and the Georgia and Alabama Club.

Emma is joined in heaven with her beloved husband, Leon Farmer, Sr, her parents, Samuel and Bertha Patterson; one sister, Sinnie Davis, four brothers; Cecile Patterson, Lonnie Patterson, Artie Patterson and RC Robert Patterson.

She leaves behind cherished and precious memories her children, Larry (Linda) Patterson, Loretta (Shawn) Farmer Mazique, Brenda Farmer Jackson and Leon Farmer, Jr; grandchildren, Latesha Patterson, Larry B. Patterson, Takim Jackson, Damien Jackson, Niasiah Middleton, Isaiah Middleton, Lalia Farmer and Jayden Farmer; her sister, Gladys Carlisle; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and treasured friends.
