The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Essie Sessoms can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Nana open her home and family to me 30 some years ago when Yolanda brought me home from college. I'll never forget that first morning; Nana was up cooking chicken and waffles and I decided she was my Nana too. Even on the road trip to Franklin, VA with her and granddaddy she always treated me like family. Only a woman of God could have a open heart like that. The work she has done will speak for her. I thank you with a heavy heart. We love you but God loves you best. Until we meet again Nana.
