It is important to remember that cremation is not a funeral, it is a means of disposition. Cremated remains should be cared for with the same dignity as a body buried in a casket. We will provide helpful guidance to you and your family on how to incorporate cremation with a meaningful and appropriate way to acknowledge a life well lived.
· The Complete Cremation Service (or Cremation Service with Viewing) will be just like a Funeral Service except cremation will follow instead of the casketed burial. This can be accommodated by the use of a cremation casket (casket that is designed to be cremated) or a rental casket. Following the viewing and service, the cremated remains can be buried, placed into a columbarium, properly scattered, or returned to the family for safe keeping. Urns are used to hold the cremated remains. Urns can be constructed out of basic materials like cardboard or plastic, or constructed out of more durable materials like basic and semi-precious metals, ceramics, and woods.
· A Memorial Service is one where the body is not present. We recommend that if you select an immediate cremation that you consider having some type of service or ceremony. Acknowledgement of their life is also a key ingredient to a healthy recovery of after a loss due to a death.
In some situations families have us direct cremate their loved one and then mail the ashes to them in the state they live in without coming to NY for face to face arrangements. Whatever you specific situation, we will guide you through your available options.
