Cassandra Edwards (Cassie) was born in Jamaica, NY on October 13, 1960. She was born to the late James N. Morman and Elma Morman. God called her from labor to rest on December 12th, 2014 in Jamaica Hospital. Cassie was raised in the Jamaica area of Queens. She was educated in the public school system. She attended and graduated from PS123 and Cardozo High School. After graduation from High School, she attended various trade schools and eventually worked as a data entry operator in the Custom Clearance Department at JFK Airport. Cassie was also employed as a Direct Care Aide.

Cassie met and married the late Spencer Edwards Jr. in 1980 and to this union one daughter was born Shannon Nicole. Cassie joined Bethany Baptist Church on January 23rd 1972 and was baptized.

Cassie was a spicy lady and had a carefree spirit. She enjoyed life, was fun loving, with a sweet and generous heart and would help anyone in need. Cassie was very, very friendly and anyone who knew her knew that she would speak her mind. You didn’t have to wonder you knew what she thought.

Cassie leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother, Elma, her daughter Shannon Alleyne, son-in-law Raymond, three sisters; Beatrice, Mary (Leroy) of Buffalo, NY and Charlotte of Jamaica, NY, two brothers Dan (Ann) of Lackawanna, NY and Charlie; sisters, Emma, Doris, Denise and Linda; two grandchildren (Raya and Nicolas) she was so in love with them and they made her day, even when she didn’t feel well she wanted them with her. Two aunts, Christine Nelson of Laurinburg, NC and Brenda (Timothy) Mayner of Raleigh, NC. Cousin Lorna and Symantha; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
